It’s starting to feel like summer! In just a few short weeks, schools across north Louisiana will be letting out. If you are looking for a way to nurture your child’s creativity and keep him/her occupied, NCLAC’s Summer Arts Camps (for students entering 2nd – 7th grades) are will start in June.
Today is the last day to receive the “early bird” discount for NCLAC’s week-long camps! If you pay today, tuition is only $60 (includes daily snack and supplies); after tomorrow, tuition will be $65.
Super Saturday camps are only $20 until June 5th; after that date, tuition will be $25 (also includes daily snack and supplies). The camps are listed below.

This week, I want to introduce you to another one of the talented artists who will be instructing one of the camps: Mary Booth Dunn!
Mary grew up in North Louisiana and received her BA from Louisiana Tech University in 2007. She writes that, after graduating, she moved to the Dallas area, where she married her husband Christian and worked as a magazine designer at a small publishing company for four years. Although she enjoyed the world of editorial layout, she says that she and her husband are now back at Louisiana Tech pursuing their MFA degrees together, where her focus has shifted away from design to fine art.
Her current body of work explores memories, relationships, time and loss, and is primarily made up of literal and metaphorical portraiture. She writes that her art practice includes painting and drawing; in addition, she recently began constructing pieces using crochet.
We are excited to have Mary as an instructor! She will be devoting her time and talent to one of the camps this summer.
