To be accepted as an intern, candidates must (1) submit a resume packet, (2) undergo a reference check, and (3) be interviewed by NCLAC’s staff and Board of Directors. Resume packets must include (i) a cover letter, (ii) resume, (iii) current collegiate transcript, and (iv) three professional references.

Hannah Greer, NCLAC Marketing Intern in 2011-12 says of her internship:

While there, I wrote press releases, designed promotional materials, worked on events with NCLAC staff, and wrote my own series of blog posts for their readers. Not only was I able to gain professional experience and improve my work, but also made valuable connections in the community that brought me closer to local business owners, artists, and residents. Having lived in Ruston two and half years prior to my internship, the town finally began feeling like home after I started working for the Arts Council. What I was most thankful for while working at NCLAC was the supportive staff that encouraged my ideas and creativity. It
was there where I first gained confidence in my ability to contribute to a work
environment and a community.

NCLAC seeks individuals with good communication and organizational skills, selfmotivation,
and the ability to work within an established system and time frame. Interns may work up to 8-10 hours per week, but hours are flexible depending on the intern’s school schedule.

WORK EXPERIENCES MAY INCLUDE:
