In the Loop

In the Loop will be a weekly blog post sharing information important to artists and arts lovers.

The Louisiana Tech University School of Art for the Annual Student Show, exhibiting the exceptional art work from current Tech students, will take place on Thursday, March 29th. Photographer Kelli Connell juried the submissions for Louisiana Tech’s Annual Student Show. Connell will be giving a talk just before the opening of the show at 5pm in room 103 of the F Jay Taylor Visual Arts Center (#1 Mayfield St. Ruston, LA). Immediately following the talk, the opening reception and awards will be held. The exhibit will be open from March 29-April 10, 2012.

Connell received an MFA from Texas Woman’s University in 2003. Her body of work, Double Life, has been widely received and included in numerous national solo and group exhibitions. Her work is in the collections of Microsoft; Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Columbus Museum of Art; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Museum of Contemporary Photography; and the Dallas Museum of Art. Recent publications include, Double Life, published by Decode Books; Photo Art: The New World of Photography, published by Aperture;Vitamin Ph: New Perspectives in Photography, published by Phaidon; and MP3: Midwest Photographers’ Publication Project, co-published by Aperture and The Museum of Contemporary Photography. Connell teaches at Columbia College in Chicago.
