The School of Performing Arts at Louisiana Tech is holding open auditions for their Spring Quarter musical Pippin, book by Roger O. Hirson and music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. The story, led by the Leading Player, is told by a mysterious acting company and follows the life of Pippin, a young Prince searching the world for meaning.
Auditions will be held Monday, March 12th 2012 at 7:00 PM in Stone Theatre. Please be prepared to sing 16 bars of a Broadway Early Rock style song and to perform a cold reading taken from the script. An accompanist and CD player will be provided. For access to the script please email the Production Stage Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org. There will also be a dance/movement portion of the audition in which you will be asked to perform a dance that will be learned at auditions. Due to the movement portion of auditions dance/movement wear is acceptable. However, please be presentable, professional, and arrive on time.
