Grambling State University Theatre announces its 2012 Spring Performances.

The Visual and Performing Arts at Grambling State University is pleased to announce its 2012 Spring Semester Playbill.

Dr. King D. Godwin, chair of the department, begins the semester with Michael, a King by Al Boswell.  Paralleling the influence theatre has on its audience to the influence a King has on his people, the audience is sure to expect the unexpected all while being educated about a great leader, Michael.   Follow the path from boycott to assassination all while celebrating the great “Kings” of Black History Month.  Production dates are February 27-March 2, 2012

Ruined, by Lynn Nottage, is being directed by Karl V. Norman.  The 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Drama winner, this play is based on the struggles endured by women during the civil war of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.  Mama Nadi runs a “clean” bar that provides a job and security for women on the run as long as they fulfill their job requirements.  Production dates are March 26-29, 2012.  This show contains adult language and content.

JAM! One Act Festival is being directed and cast by the Capstone Directing Class.  Auditions will be held early in the spring semester.  Production dates are April 30 & May 1, 2012.
