LA Tech Theatre Invites Children to Audition

Louisiana Tech Theatre Invites Children of Ruston and Community to be a Star on Howard Stage.

 Does your child want to be on stage? Are you yourself an aspiring actor? Now is your chance to be a part of live theatre in Ruston, LA. Open auditions will be held for students, children, and the community Monday December 5th and Tuesday December 6th in Howard Auditorium, located in the Howard Center for the Performing Arts on the corner of Adams Boulevard and Arizona Street. Auditionees are only required to attend one audition time. Auditioning adults please be prepared to read a side from the show. Sides, chosen by the director, will be available in 304A in Howard for check out starting Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Dress should be audition appropriate (dressy casual) as there will not be a movement section of the audition.

Parents of Children: there will be a meeting for children and parents at 6:15 each night in Howard Auditorium before auditions. The meeting will consist of filling out paperwork and information about what will be expected of your child if they are cast. Children should bring a poem to read (between 7-10 lines). It does not need to be memorized and extra poems will be available at auditions.

 Directed by Paul B. Crook, Associate Professor of Theatre, performances will run January 31st – February 4th, 2012 at 7:30 with two matinee performances February 1st and 2nd at 9:30. All performances will be held in Howard Auditorium. No previous theatre experience is required and everyone is invited to audition.
