The West Baton Rouge Museum is inviting the public to submit original art works inspired by the events of September 11, 2001. The tenth anniversary of the tragic event in American history will be marked by a juried display of art works this summer. Artists of all ages and all levels of their artistic careers are encouraged to enter artwork. We also encourage you to submit art made at any point in the past decade; the artwork does not have to have been made in 2011. Applicatons to submit art work can be found at www.westbatonrougemuseum.com and are due May 3, 2011.
There will be monetary prizes awarded for lst, 2nd and 3rd place winners. There is also a special prize for a West Baton Rouge student entry winner.
If you cannot personally deliver your art, you may ship it to the museum at your own cost. When the exhibit is over, the museum staff will re-pack your art in its original shipping materials. Please arrange for a prepaid shipper to pick up your art at the museum. You must contact the museum’s Curator, Lauren Davis, with the details prior to scheduling a pick up.
The exhibit will run from July 23 through September 18, 2011. Letters of acceptance and rejection will be sent by May 16, 2011. Accepted artwork must be delivered to the museum during business hours June 6-8, 2011. For more information, please call the West Baton Rouge Museum at (225) 336-2422 ext. 11.
