Wednesday, March 16, 2011 Lecture: 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. Barbara Bloemink is currently the Executive Director at Anderson Ranch Arts Center. She has worked as an international museum consultant, museum director, curator of international contemporary art and design, author, and art historian. Previously the Curatorial Director of the Smithsonian’s National Design Museum, Barbara also served as the Director and chief curator of five art museums including the Guggenheim Hermitage & Las Vegas Museums, the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia, and the Hudson River Museum. She received her BA in art history from Stanford University, MA from the Institute of Fine Arts (NYU) and an additional MA and PhD from Yale University.
